Community Commitment

Québec Women Business Network

To have succeeded in certifying 40 Québec businesses over the last two years is an exceptional accomplishment that makes us very proud! Through our unique program, Développement économique Féminin (DEF), created by the RFAQ and endorsed by the Status of Women Canada as well as by strategic partners, several women owned businesses have received targeted training and have participated in various missions generating close to 40 connections with partners outside of Québec.

We have also raised awareness among dozens of large organizations about the lucrative reality and leadership of our women owned businesses. Canada, unlike the U.S., has no mechanisms in place to encourage large organizations to choose minority suppliers for their needs. It is of utmost importance to convince our leading buyers to truly commit to using our supplier diversity program. Québec is actively recruiting advocates that will help its economic growth; and women owned businesses are the solution.

Your time is a rare commodity that deserves to be optimized. Take full advantage of all the activities offered to you in the next two days, and learn how to become a sought-after supplier, discover the importance of a WEConnect International certification for your business, benefit from the experience and guidance of our speakers and panelists, applaud the inspiring testimonials of entrepreneurs who get contracts thanks to their certification, and connect with some captivating leading buyers that are interested in meeting you. This is a prime venue for celebrating and networking so that you can grow and increase the visibility of your business!

Yours truly,
Ruth Vachon, President and CEO, Québec Women Business Network

Fellowship In Continuing Health Education

AXDEV initiated a national master’s/doctoral level award for students who are conducting innovative research in health education. We partnered with the University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, College of Family Physicians of Canada, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Canadian Institute of Health Research for this prestigious award. The first two awards totalling $66,000 were given in 2006 for a three-year period to two students who are conducting unique healthcare education projects in Quebec and Saskatchewan.

Youth Programs International Development Project

Under the leadership of Ms. Murray, AXDEV supported the building of a school and shelters in Nicaragua in conjunction with “Terre sans frontières” and the scouts of Brossard. The AXDEV team participated in this plan by calling firms and business people to back this initiative, thereby contributing to community development and advancing a humanitarian initiative.

Benado

This organization supports and trains at-risk youth. AXDEV extended financial support but went beyond this by enhancing the development of a pedagogic program.

Student internships

AXDEV has welcomed master’s or doctoral level students from Canada, the United States, France, the United Kingdom and other countries to intern in our offices and enrich their knowledge and experience of the professional world. It is a mutually beneficial exchange, as AXDEV has benefited from the students’ knowledge, their culture and vision to develop our capacities and our own understanding of the business environment.

Other Community Support

AXDEV provides financial support to many non-profit organizations such as the Canadian Cancer Society, the Association Pulmonaire Québec, the Charles LeMoyne Hospital Foundation, the Scouts de Brossard, the Jean de la Mennais Foundation, the Fonds de développement du college Edouard-Montpetit, the Nol au Printemps Foundation, the Parkinson Society Québec, the Bulldogs Bantam BB Team from Brossard/La Prairie, and the Quebec Junior Achievement.
