DAVE DAVIS, MD
GLOBAL SENIOR ADVISOR
AXDEV GROUP, GLOBAL (USA) AND EUROPE GMBH
Dave was a family physician in Ontario, Canada, for nearly 40 years, from 1970-2008, in private, group and academic practice settings.
For much of that time, he was active in the development of continuing education programs for practicing colleagues: at Joseph Brant Hospital in Burlington, Ontario; at Hamilton’s McMaster University’s
Faculty of Health Sciences; as associate dean, continuing education, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto; and chairman of Ontario’s Guidelines Advisory Committee.
In 2008, Dave left Canada to become Vice President (subsequently senior director) for Continuing Education and Improvement at the Association of American Medical Colleges in Washington, DC.
In 2016, he and Maureen moved to Dubai, where he and colleagues created the Center for Outcomes and Research in Education (CORE) at a new institution, Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine & Health Sciences. In medical education, he’s published more than 200 peer-reviewed papers, abstracts and book chapters, and three major books on continuing education. Dave’s been an invited speaker on four continents.
Later in life, Dave has discovered time for his love of creative writing. He publishes regular short essays in the Hamilton Spectator (www.thespec.com). Most recently, his first novel, “A Potter’s Tale”, was published by Story Merchant Books, Los Angeles, available in hard copy and on Amazon. His former patients, renamed, altered and unrecognizable – but real – figure prominently in his essays and writing.
Dave is the proud father of two and grandfather to two active and amazing boys. He and Maureen have been married for over 50 years. How’d that happen? Dave divides his time between Dundas, Ontario, and (when Covid lets him) Fort Myers Beach Florida.
